Terms of Use

Last updated October 8, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ZestRoot Inc., a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act ("we", "us"), about your use of the Leapsteps apps and this website. By creating an account or using Leapsteps, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Leapsteps.

The app shows the core rules (sections 2 to 5) as "Usage Policies & Terms of Use" when you first sign in. This page is the complete version. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

1. About Leapsteps

Leapsteps helps you plan goals, tasks and daily work. Some features generate content with artificial intelligence (the "AI features").

2. Eligibility and your account

Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Leapsteps.

Your account. Keep your sign-in details confidential. You're responsible for all activity under your account, and you may not share your account with another person.

Ending your use. You can stop using Leapsteps and delete your account at any time: open Settings and choose Delete account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription, so cancel it first where you bought it: in your Apple or Google account's subscription settings, or, for a Windows purchase, in Leapsteps under Settings, Manage subscription. The account deletion page lists the steps.

3. AI-generated content

No professional advice. AI-generated content is for general planning and inspiration only, not professional advice. Leapsteps isn't a medical, mental-health, financial, tax or legal service, and generated content never replaces a qualified professional. Use your own judgment, and consult a qualified professional for medical, financial or legal decisions.

Accuracy. AI-generated content may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review it before you rely on it or turn it into goals, tasks or reminders.

4. Acceptable use

When you use the AI features, you agree not to submit or seek:

  • content that facilitates, promotes or glamorizes suicide, self-harm or disordered eating;
  • content that threatens, incites or facilitates harm to others, including violence or harassment;
  • directives in regulated domains (medical, mental-health, financial, tax or legal) for yourself or anyone else;
  • content that is illegal, or that violates the rights of others; or
  • ways to get around Leapsteps' safety measures.

Anywhere in Leapsteps, you also agree not to:

  • send invitations or content to people who haven't agreed to receive them, or use Leapsteps to harass anyone;
  • try to access accounts or data that aren't yours, or disrupt or overload the service;
  • copy, scrape, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it; or
  • use automated means to get around usage limits or create accounts.

We may refuse, block or remove requests and content that break these rules, and we may suspend or close accounts that break them repeatedly.

5. If you are struggling

If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Outside the US, findahelpline.com lists free helplines for your region. Leapsteps isn't an emergency service.

6. Your content

You keep the rights to the content you put into Leapsteps. You give us a limited license to store, process and display it only to provide and improve the service for you, including sending it to the providers our Privacy Policy lists. Content you accept from the AI features, such as goals, tasks or subtasks, becomes part of your content and is treated the same way.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

7. Teams and shared projects

When you share a project or invite people, they can see and work with the content you share, as the app describes. You're responsible for what you share and whom you invite. Invite only people who expect to hear from you. The project's owner decides who has access and can remove people.

8. Plans, subscriptions and free trials

Free. The Free plan is free to use, with limits the app describes, such as one active goal and use on one device.

Pro. Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly. The app shows the price, including the taxes that apply, before you buy.

Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time: in Leapsteps open Settings and choose Manage subscription, or use your Apple or Google account's subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.

Free trials. Pro starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. When the trial ends, the subscription starts and you're charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Who handles payment. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, Apple handles payment; on Android, Google does. Their terms and refund policies apply to those purchases, and refunds are requested from them. On Windows, payment is processed by RevenueCat and Stripe for us. If you ask within 14 days of your first payment, we refund it in full. Later payments and renewals aren't refunded, except where the law requires. To ask for a refund, email support@leapsteps.ai.

Price changes. If the price of your subscription goes up, we or the store will tell you before it applies, and you can cancel before then.

Usage limits. AI and voice features have daily limits that keep the service fast and available for everyone. Pro's limits are much higher than Free's. We may adjust limits to protect the service.

Your legal rights. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer protection law, such as a right to withdraw from a purchase where it applies.

9. Our app and your license

Leapsteps, including its software, design, text and brand, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the apps on devices you own or control, under these terms. We may update, change or stop features over time.

10. Other services

Leapsteps relies on services such as Apple, Google and Microsoft sign-in, and app stores. Your use of them is also governed by their terms. We aren't responsible for services we don't control.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your access if you materially break these terms, or use Leapsteps in a way that creates risk or legal exposure for us or others. Where we can, we'll tell you why. You may delete your account at any time. Sections 6 and 13 to 15 continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as Leapsteps changes. When we make a material change, we'll ask you to review and accept the new version in the app before you continue, and record your acceptance on your account. The version you accept applies until the next material change.

13. Disclaimers and limits of liability

Leapsteps is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Leapsteps, including reliance on AI-generated content.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Leapsteps is limited to the amount you paid us for Leapsteps in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Before starting a formal dispute, please email us so we can try to resolve it. If you're a consumer elsewhere in Canada, in the European Union or in the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you can bring a claim there.

Subject to those consumer rights, the courts of British Columbia, sitting in Vancouver, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about these terms or Leapsteps, and you and we submit to their jurisdiction.

15. Apps from Apple's App Store

If you got Leapsteps from Apple's App Store, these terms also apply:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Leapsteps and its content.
  • Your license is limited to using Leapsteps on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules permit.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Leapsteps.
  • If Leapsteps fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Leapsteps.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims about Leapsteps, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
  • If someone claims that Leapsteps infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you aren't in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you aren't on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Leapsteps.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
