What's new in LeapSteps

What changed in each release of LeapSteps, newest first, and what it means for your day.

LeapSteps is out now, and it's free to start: get it from the App Store for iPhone and iPad, the Mac App Store for Mac, Google Play for Android, or the Microsoft Store for Windows. LeapSteps isn't currently offered in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Each store installs new versions for you. To update LeapSteps for Windows now, open the Microsoft Store, choose Library, then Get updates.

Version 1.0.3

Windows,

Your AI assistant can now work through your list with you, and your timer and reminders keep up wherever you pick up.

  • Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to LeapSteps. It can add, edit and finish your tasks, move goal steps along and start your focus timer. Help > AI & your data shows how.
  • Your assistant can also ask to archive or delete tasks. Nothing is removed until you confirm in LeapSteps.
  • Tasks show which assistant is working on them and for how long. See or disconnect your assistants under Settings > Connected AI apps.
  • A running timer on Do keeps going if you close the app, and on Pro it follows you to your other devices.
  • Reminders stay up to date when a task changes on another device, and finishing a task clears its reminder.
  • British Columbia stops changing its clocks on November 1. Reminders there keep the right time, including on PCs set to Windows' British Columbia time zone.
  • Fixed a rare freeze when finishing a weekly repeating task.
  • Smaller fixes and polish.

Version 1.0.2

Windows,

Shared projects are safer to work in, and a date you say out loud lands where you meant it.

  • Block someone from a shared project, your team or an invitation. Everyone you've blocked is listed under Settings > Account > Blocked people, where you can unblock them too.
  • Project names, shared tasks and comments are checked for slurs and threats before anyone else sees them.
  • Add a task by voice with a day in it, like "Friday", and it becomes an all-day task for that day instead of one due at midnight.
  • At large text sizes, today's date stays readable in the date picker.
  • Achievements you earn while setting up the app now wait until you reach your Plan, and show there together.
  • Smaller fixes and polish.

Version 1.0.1

Windows,

Every goal now has a next step you can link tasks to, and setting up the app goes more smoothly.

  • Goals always keep all three tiers: the long-term goal, a milestone and a next step. A goal you start during setup now shows up when you link a task to it, and if you'd rather skip AI, you can write the steps yourself.
  • When you add a time to a task during setup, you pick the date first, so the reminder goes off on the right day.
  • The example tasks in setup are set for tomorrow, so none of them starts out late.
  • Titles on the Plan and the sign-up screen stay readable at the largest text sizes.
  • Smaller fixes for reminders, and polish across the app.

Version 1.0.0

Windows,

LeapSteps for Windows arrives in the Microsoft Store: a to-do list where the tasks that matter link to your bigger goals.

  • Add a task in seconds. End it with a date like "tomorrow 7am" and the due date is set, with reminders and repeats when you need them.
  • Link any task to a goal, or keep it as a plain to-do.
  • Write a goal in your own words, and AI suggests a milestone and this week's step. Keep one, edit it or write your own.
  • Say your tasks out loud, or let AI split a big task into small steps.
  • A focus timer with breaks built in, and Multitask mode to keep track of the tasks you've handed to AI.
  • Reminders and a morning summary as Windows notifications.
  • Lists, labels, a calendar month view, and a right-click menu on every task.
  • XP, levels and achievements as you get things done.
  • With Pro, your goals and tasks sync across your devices, and you can share projects with a team.
